Mustangs finish regular season with 2 wins over Rossville
To wind down the regular season, the mustangs finished off MEL play and the 20 game season with 2 nice wins over the Rossville Bulldogs 6-5 in the opener and 18-6 (5) in game two. The mustangs finish 8-2 in MEL play (second) and 12-8 overall. The mustangs began the season 1-5 through their first six games and finished impressively in the last 14 games; going 11-3. Read more
Mustangs battle; fall to Silver Lake
Rock Creek was playing for a shot at the MEL title on Friday, but it will be Silver Lake at 9-1; defeating the mustangs 0-2 in game one and 9-13 in game two. Scoreless through 6 innings, the mustangs had opportunities, but could not manufacture offense. In the game, the mustangs had more errors (5) than hits, (4), but still made it a game through 6 innings. Read more
Rock Creek sweeps Alma Wabaunsee
The Rock Creek softball team improved to 6-0 in MEL play with exciting wins over the 10-6 Alma Chargers. The first game went the distance with the Mustangs winning 10-3; while the second game lasted only 6, but the mustangs trailed for the majority of the game but rallied in the 6th to win 19-9. JV Softball ends season 6-6
The mustangs split with Chapman Friday night in polar opposite games, winning the first 15-0, and dropping the second 6-17. In the opener, Alisha Banta allowed only 2 Chapman hits in the pitching win, while the mustangs had 14, including 8 extra base hits (season high). Read more
Mustangs even season out at 5-5 for the year
The JV mustang softball team traveled to Abilene to take on the cowgirls in a double header that was a postponed game from April 7. The cowgirls won the dual 5-9 and 7-22. Read more

Winning games 14-4 and 8-0 against Riley County, the mustangs are now 8-6 with 3 MEL opponents yet to play in the regular season.
The mustangs pounded out 18 hits, including 5 doubles and a homerun in the opening game that lasted only 5 innings against the falcons of Riley County. Read more
Mustang JV Softball improves to 5-3, sweeps Council Grove
The mustangs came from behind in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the 7th scoring 2 off a game winning Kerri Briggs double that scored Sam Reves and Kelsey Quinn giving the mustangs the go-ahead 14-13. Read more
Rock Creek JV softball splits with St. Marys
The mustangs defeated the bears 9-7 in the opening game, but faltered 3-23 in the second game. The mustangs combined for 11 hits in the first game including Sam Reves going 3-4 with a double and an RBI. Ashley McDaris doubled with an RBI as well. Morgan Schwinn had 2 singles. Read more
Mustangs open MEL play 2-0
In games played on April 18th in St. Marys, the Mustangs won two from the Bears, 5-2 in the opener and 7-6 in the nightcap.
In the first of the two games, the mustangs combined for 10 hits, multiple hits from 3 of the girls: Katie Hodges 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s, Megan Srna 3-5 scoring 2 runs, and Caitline’ Christenson 2-4 . Caitlyn Larson and Shainn Bruce each had RBI singles in the game. “We executed 4 very important sacrifice plays that proved to be big in this game." Read more
RC JV softball drops two to Jeff West – now 2-2 on season
The mustangs lost two games over the weekend, to Jeff West 5-11, and 9-19 in the Saturday double header. The games were to originally start at 10:00 and host Royal Valley & Jeff West in a triangular, instead Jeff West came up for a double header that started at 1:00. In the first game, the mustangs had the game under control through 6 ½ innings – leading 5-1 heading into the 7th. Read more

In games played on Tuesday, April 12, the mustangs competed in two close ball games dropping the opener 4-5; and capturing the nightcap in the bottom of the 7th 4-3. Read more
Rock Creek JV Softball opens season with 2 wins
In games played on April 11, the young mustangs traveled to Clay Center for their first games of the season, winning the first in a come from behind fashion 10-8 and the second handily 19-4 after 4 innings. Read more
Mustang Softball Sweeps Southeast of Saline
In games played on Friday, April 7, the mustangs topped S.E.S 6-0 and 3-0 in their doubleheader. In the first game, it was Jessi Snapp going 2-2 that led the mustang offense (one a lead-off triple), while Bailey Elliott went 2-3 with an RBI and stolen base. Katie Hodges and Kelsey Quinn each went 1-2, while Ashley McDaris, Caitlyn Larson, and Caitline’ Christenson each singled for the mustangs.

Mustangs fall to 1-5
The mustangs fall to 1-5 on the season, dropping two at the hands of the Abilene Cowgirls.
The mustangs allowed only 5 hits in game one from pitcher Katie Hodges, but managed only 3 of their own in the 2-3 loss. The first run was scored by Abilene in the bottom of the second. Rock Creek rallied for 2 runs via Jessi Snapp getting hit by the pitch, scoring on Bailey Elliott’s triple. Read more
Mustangs drop 2 to Red Raiders
In games played on April 1 (postponed from March 31), the mustangs struggled, faltering 2-12 in each game. Credit Wamego for combining for 15 hits in each ball game, to the mustangs 5 & 8 hits respectively. “They (Wamego) outperformed us in every facet of the game from hitting to pitching, fielding to running, including their energy level." Mustang Softball opens with Osage City
In the tale of 2 games, the Mustang Softball team opened the 2011 season with perennial state contender, Osage City; dropping the first game 0-10 and winning the nightcap 11-6. “Osage City is a very good, solid team. We were not sharp in the opening game, but take nothing away from their team, they are led by 7 seniors that have state experience and know how to win, they put on a show in the first game.” Read more
Rock Creek Softball Season Begins
The 2011 spring sports season for softball is about to begin! This week the softball team will travel to both Osage City & Wamego for the first varsity games of the 2011 season. The JV team will open on Thursday, April 7th at Abilene. The mustangs return a host of experienced players and are optimistic about the season. Read more
